On May 16, Face the Music kicks off the Queens New Music Festival with “Teen New Music Riot,” a program of music written by Face the Music players and students from Kaufman Music Center’s Special Music School High School that runs the gamut from brainiac classical to postminimalist virtuosity.
On June 1, Face the Music will give the world premiere of Huang Ro’s Chamber Concerto No. 2, The Lost Garden at Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium as part of the NY PHIL BIENNIAL. The program also includes Grammy nominee Vijay Iyer’s Three Fragments and world premieres of new works by Special Music School High School students Zachary Detrick and Julian Galese.
