You’ve heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but what about Giving Tuesday?
Kaufman Center is participating in the first annual #GivingTuesday on November 27, 2012. #GivingTuesday is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations. You can participate by giving a gift to Kaufman Center this holiday season to help support our exceptional music education and performance programs.
Here are some gift ideas:

$11 buys a pack of strings for an electric guitar, as called for in Steve Reich’s “Triple Quartet” which will be performed by Face the Music and JACK Quartet this season.

$17 buys a pitch pipe for performing a cappella works at the SMS Winter Choral Concert on December 19.

$28 buys a set of violin strings for a Special Music School student in the Play-a-thon at the Union Square Barnes and Noble next spring.

$35 buys a box of clarinet reeds for a performance of “Nach-Ruf … ent-gleitend” by contemporary composer George Friedrich Haas by the Argento Ensemble in February at Merkin Concert Hall.
- $40 buys Latin-style bongos, as featured in the Musica de Camara Orchestra, which will perform music from Latin America at Merkin Concert Hall on November 20.
