On Nov 2, NPR commentator/conductor/pianist Rob Kapilow will show you what makes Beethoven's brilliant, conflicted and contradictory Kreutzer Sonata tick. At each What Makes It Great? performance, Rob unravels a musical masterpiece, which is then performed in its entirety and followed by a Q&A with the audience. Get series info.

Watch Rob introduce the series, and explain what makes Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata the first radically individual violin sonata in the history of music.
