Three talented Kaufman Music Center piano students – Abraham Gold, Andrea Gonzales and Andrew Lin – will participate in an open piano masterclass with Juilliard School Pre-College faculty member Ernest Barretta.

Educated at Oberlin Conservatory, University of Arts and Peabody Conservatory, Mr. Barretta has received awards and honors including the Rudolf Serkin Prize (Oberlin), Strine Award (U. Of A.) and Zierler Award (Peabody). He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician both in the U.S. and abroad and has broadcast performances and interviews on WFLN (Philadelphia) and WBJC (Baltimore). Mr. Barretta has performed as soloist with the St. Petersburg Symphony (St. Petersburg, Russia), the National Gallery Orchestra and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony and given solo recitals in New York and Washington, D.C., including an appearance at XM Radio Studios. A Juilliard Pre-College Piano faculty member since 2000
and former piano faculty member of Peabody Conservatory and Towson University, he has recorded on myny labels.He is active as a conductor and composer and has served as Music Director of St. Joseph Church (Baltimore, MD) since 1994.
