Performances
Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Concert Hall is well known for nurturing young performers and composers, and for supporting musical innovation by some of today’s most inspiring musical voices. In addition to cutting-edge new music, Merkin Concert Hall presents some of the best new talents in the classical world, celebrations of musical theater with Broadway’s top professionals and lively musical reviews for children and families.
When you support Merkin Concert Hall, here’s what your gift can do:
Help emerging young artists get established.
Give some of today’s brightest young performers the invaluable opportunity to perform on the stage of one of New York’s finest concert halls.
Be part of some of New York’s most compelling musical events.
Your support makes it possible for Kaufman Music Center to present groundbreaking musical events like the annual Ecstatic Music Festival, which the New York Times’ Steve Smith calls “The open-minded, open-eared credo of an emerging generation.”
Support new work by acclaimed composers at the forefront of 21st century music.
The winner of multiple ASCAP awards for adventurous programming, Kaufman Music Center commissions works by composers who are helping to re-shape the landscape of contemporary music, such as Aaron Jay Kernis, John Zorn, Nico Muhly, William Bolcolm, Joan Tower, Michael Gordon, Tania Leon and Judd Greenstein.
Help children discover the magic of Broadway.
Kaufman Music Center provides free and discounted Broadway Playhouse tickets for children from Title 1 public schools in underserved communities.
