The Gala is Kaufman Music Center’s most important fundraising event, benefitting our Fund for Music education. Featuring cocktails, a seated dinner, and live music, this will be an unforgettable celebration of what makes Kaufman Music Center so special! This year, we are proud to honor world-renowned conductor David Robertson, and our own former Trustee, Solange Landau.
Kaufman Music Center’s Annual Gala, will take place on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at The Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47th Street).
Held in beautiful homes around the city, Musical Evenings are cocktail receptions followed by intimate performances by world-renowned artists. The upcoming 2015-16 Musical Evening will feature Bandoneon player Héctor Del Curto, Cellist Jisoo Ok, Pianist Gustavo Casenave, and violinist Sami Merdinian in private concert on Monday, April 4, 2016.
Performers in past seasons have included violinist, Hilary Hahn, Kronos Quartet, flutist James Galway, pianist Lang Lang, violinist Gil Shaham, the Brentano String Quartet, clarinetist Anthony McGill, and cellist Matt Haimovitz. All proceeds benefit the music program of Special Music School, New York City's only K-12 public school that teaches music as a core subject.
The 2016 Theater@Kaufman Party was held on Sunday, January 24 and featured performances by Kate Baldwin and Kaufman Music Center's Broadway Playhouse cast. One of the Center’s most beloved events, the annual Theater@Kaufman Party took place at an exquisite Upper West Side home, complete with delicious cocktails, sumptuous hors d'œuvres and lively entertainment. The party culminated in a sing-a-long of Broadway favorites. Proceeds from this event supported Theater@Kaufman's Broadway Playhouse program, enabling students from Title I Schools to discover the joy of live theater through free matinees at The Theater Center in Times Square.
