Biana Kovic

Biana Kovic is an award winning cellist, composer, filmmaker, educator, radio show host, key note speaker, executive level leader and business strategist. Biana has been featured in the New York Times; Good Morning  Amarica; Chappaqua Public Television;Music for People Newsletter;  Wisconsin Cello Society Newsletter; The Riverside Press; The Lubec Light; The Quoddy Tides; Bangor News; Machias Valley News Observer; Special Redio; Coastal Press; The Downeast; Musicafter50.com; and Thirdage.com.

A winner of many awards, Biana has performed at New York City's Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, Cami Hall, Zankel Hall, The Open Center, The Tibetan House and Avery Fisher Hall.

In 2006, Biana was invited to do solo cello performance of The National Anthem at the Shea Stadium and has performed consecutively until 2010.

An avid educator, Biana has taught many students to play the cello since 1995. In 2006, Biana's interest in teaching has led her to produce and direct 2-times award winning short documentary film "Virtuoso". The film features 89 - year old woman, Matty Kahn, who is learning to play the cello.

In 2018, with her business partner and co-producer, Jim DeVivo, Biana has founded Nurturing Babies, a platform for relaxing, sleep time music for babies and educational nursery rhymes.

Biana holds MS in Educational Psychology and Methodology from University at Albany, SUNY and BA in Music from University of Musical Arts in Belgrade, Serbia. She has Master Certificate in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) from NLP Center of NY, Certificates in Nonprofit Management from Harvard University and Baruch College, and Certificate in Conflict Mediation from Columbia University / UNITAR.

Biana is a host of a radio show series “Leadership with Biana Kovic”.
