Commended by the New York Times and London Times, pianist Emily White was the first Juilliard student and first American fully sponsored by the London Symphony Orchestra for postgraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music. In her second year, after winning the Piano Prize at the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition, she was invited to give a private recital for Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at the Iveagh Bequest, Kenwood. As a high school student in Miami, Florida, Emily White won the summer concerto competition three times at the National Music Camp, Interlochen, and received the Miami Herald’s Silver Knight Award for Music. A top prizewinner at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg and the Chopin Competition of Greater New York, Emily White has taken part in the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain, where she was the only American of twelve semifinalists. Ms. White has appeared in recital at London’s Wigmore Hall and Southbank Centre, St. David’s Hall in Cardiff, and New York’s Isaac Stern Auditorium, Carnegie Hall, and as soloist with the National Orchestral Institute in Maryland, Lake Forest Symphony, Brooklyn Symphony, Lambeth Orchestra in London, Sudeten Philharmonic in Poland, and Oltenia Philharmonic in Romania. Her recordings on Arabesque include Piano Works of Szymanowski and a new release, American Collection, available on Spotify and all digital music platforms. Dr. White holds degrees from the University of Maryland, The Juilliard School, and the Manhattan School of Music. Emily White is a Steinway Artist and winner of Steinway’s Top Teacher Award for 2021.
