Laca Tines is a versatile vocalist and passionate educator. A native of Tennessee, she holds a B.A. in Voice from Rhodes College in Memphis and a M.M. in Voice from Oklahoma City University. After completing her Master’s, she continued her training at the Aspen Music Festival and then, in 1999, moved to New York to study voice with W. Stephen Smith.
Laca was first introduced to the world of early childhood music education while in college and was instantly hooked. She has been licensed in all levels of Kindermusik, completed Music Together training, Level I Orff-Schulwerk training, and is currently pursuing Dalcroze studies at Lucy Moses School. She has served on the early childhood and voice faculty of Oklahoma City University’s Performing Arts Academy, Kindermusik of The Woodlands (Texas) and Larchmont Music Academy. In 2007, Laca formed her own company, Sing & Celebrate, through which she provides musical programs for children’s events and weekly classes for area preschools.
