ComposerCraft is a program for composers ages 11-15 at Kaufman Music Center's Special Music School and Lucy Moses School. These young composers' musical imagination ranges widely, from klezmer-dubstep remixes to electronic experiments to fugues, operas, symphonies, and much more.

Every CC composer writes new works each year for professional ensembles such as Yarn/Wire, the Lysander Trio, soprano Emily Eagen, and for a yearly collaboration with Metropolis Ensemble, the Grammy-nominated chamber orchestra.

Each new piece appears in concert at NYC venues like Le Poisson Rouge, Merkin Hall, and Symphony Space.

Class time is devoted to listening, discussion, score analysis, and visits from distinguished guest composers and other leaders in NYC's contemporary music community.

ComposerCraft meets on Wednesday evenings for two hours at Kaufman Music Center.
