Listen to a recording of this concert.

Two virtuosic ensembles exploring new approaches to chamber music come together for an evening of improvised and written music that collapses the distinction between electronic and acoustic sound. The all-acoustic ensemble Dawn of Midi will perform tracks from their new record, Dysnomia, "an album filled with heavily layered rhythms that feel both mechanistic and deeply human at the same time" (NPR's Radiolab) that reached #2 on the iTunes list of top electronic albums. The two ensembles will also perform works created in collaboration with electro-acoustic chamber ensemble and Bright Wave, which will premiere new pieces by member composers William Brittelle and Michi Wiancko.

Listen to EMF curator Judd Greenstein introduce this year's concerts.
