Face the Music, Kaufman Music Center's youth new music ensemble, performs with students from Special Music School High School at the Queens New Music Festival.

Like the iPod of your average teen, this show runs the gamut from brainiac classical (Daniel Ma's Music of the Presidents) to post-minimalist virtuosity (Owen Carter's Sequester) to hard-driving rock and roll (Henry Nelson Experiment's Poisoned Bordeaux). The program also includes FTM member Sam Mellins’s Sax Quartet and Rajesh Mehta’s Songlines and Jewels as well as world premieres by SMS High School composers Henry Alonso and Stefani Recheshter, Henry Nelson Experiment’s Poisoned Bordeaux and Grandma's Homemade Fisticuffs and Tjak! arranged by Stephen Hatfield.
