Three virtuoso quintets conclude the Israeli Chamber Project's 2015-16 New York Season. At the heart of the program is Andre Caplet's evocative Conte Fantastique for harp and strings, which is based on Edgar Allan Poe's The Masque of the Red Death. This performance will include a narration of Poe's dark tale, interwoven with the music. Award-winning stage, film and television actor Michael Cumpsty joins the ensemble on this special occasion. Bookending the evening will be two of the nineteenth century's most beloved quintets: The Weber Clarinet Quintet - a virtuoso, early romantic gem - and the majestic Piano Quintet by Brahms.
