The Nadia Reisenberg Piano Award was founded in 2004 to honor the memory of long-time Mannes faculty member, Nadia Reisenberg.  The biennial competition is open to Mannes piano majors and recent alumni.  The jury seeks to select the young artist who best exemplifies Ms. Reisenberg’s own hallmark qualities of musical honesty and tonal warmth.  The 2012 winner, Reed Tetzloff, is presented here in a performance of: HAYDN’s Sonata in E-flat major, Hob. XVI, no. 52; LISZT’s  Ballade No. 2 in B minor; GRIFFES’s Sonata, A. 80; DEBUSSY’s Images Book 1; and SCRIABIN’s Sonata No. 7, op. 64.
