Led by celebrated jazz guitarist Roni Ben-Hur, our week-long jazz retreat is a comprehensive program designed for adult singers and instrumentalists to introduce and refine knowledge of jazz fundamentals. With a focus on harmony, melodic development, rhythm and repertoire, this program will give you a great deal of tools, techniques and musical ideas to build upon. Expand your repertoire, play arrangements as part of a group, and receive expert coachings. Use scales, advanced chord voicing, and harmonic progressions to construct solos and participate in workshops. The week includes fun daily jam sessions and a final performance, plus cross-learning and engagement opportunities as you collaborate and interact with musicians from Chamber Camp and Piano Camp.

RONI BEN-HUR, SESSION DIRECTOR
Celebrated as both a jazz guitarist and educator, Roni is the founding director of Kaufman’s Jazz Program and leader or co-leader on a dozen acclaimed albums. “The people who come to my jazz camps are serious amateurs,” Roni says. “I give them the opportunity to learn a lot – repertoire, rhythms, techniques – but I also give them the space to enjoy themselves in a relaxed, vacation-friendly environment. The goal is to have fun learning.”
