Small ensembles are a place in which students can explore specific interests like string quartet playing, or develop more of a stylistic focus. Groups are formed based on interest and instrumentation and rehearse every week for an hour and a half. Small ensembles perform on the regular Face the Music concerts and in the past have also participated in additional programs and performances like Kronos Quartet’s 50 for the Future project.
Tuition for small ensembles for the 2023-24 season is $1130. Special Music School and Lucy Moses School students get a 25% tuition discount.
