More than 40 string players from Kaufman Music Center's acclaimed teen new music ensemble Face the Music will perform Dutch composer Merlijn Twaalfhoven’s “On Parole” with the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, March 7. For the second year, Kronos Quartet has partnered with Face the Music, mentoring student string ensembles and performing with them at NYC venues such as Carnegie Hall and Queens Museum. Face the Music will also be a partner in Kronos Quartet's new initiative "Fifty for the Future," which will commission a collection of 50 new works devoted to the most recent approaches to the string quartet, designed expressly for the training of students and emerging professionals. The collection will represent the truly globe-spanning state of the art of the string quartet in the 21st century.
