Roni Ben-Hur and Amy London (Jazz Program) presented “Adventures in Jazz” workshops in Puerto Rico last spring and in Istanbul and Schroon Lake, NY this summer. The program was recently featured in DownBeat Magazine. Read the article.

Robinson McClellan (Composition, Theory) premiered four new works last spring, including a song on a text by the Persian poet Rumi, a liturgical cantata modeled after those of Bach, a secular cantata about the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and music for the film Noise by Zahra Partovi. He is currently working on a new commission for the Macalester Concert Choir and an opera about Botticelli.

An interview with Irina Morozova (Piano) appeared in the March issue of the Korean music magazine Eumak.

Irina Nuzova (Piano, Chamber Music) performed Ravel’s Piano Trio and Schumann’s Piano Quintet with the Attacca String Quartet at Shandelee Music Festival. In October she gave a Master Class at the pre-college division of the Schwobb School of Music in Columbus, GA and was broadcast live on WFMT.

Nancy Ranger (Oboe) performed solo English horn and oboe at The Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, a 5 week summer festival with over 100 events in grand opera, operetta, musical theater and chamber music in Logan, Utah. She also performed in Double Entendre Music Ensemble's 7th annual outdoor parks series in Bennett Park and Prospect Park, Brooklyn.

Emily White (Piano, Chamber Music) has released a live performance of the Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major by Johannes Brahms with the Filharmonia Sudecka, conducted by Pawel Przytocki, on a new CD released by Arabesque Records. Get details.

Clay Zambo’s (Theater) musical Puss In Boots, co-written with Kevin Miller, attracted sold-out crowds at Second Story Repertory Theatre in Redmond WA. He also directed Next to Normal for the Bridgeport Theatre Company. His musical Windjammers opened in June at the American Folklore Theatre in Door County, WI.
