Give the Gift of Music!

Kaufman Music Center’s groundbreaking work is only possible because of the generous support of our community. With your help, our educational programs will transform more than 4,000 young lives during the 2018-19 year, and Merkin Hall will welcome 45,000+ music lovers.

This holiday season, we are proud to share the story of one of the amazing young people who is studying at the Center, thanks to friends like you.

Elizabeth Chun is currently an 11th-grader at Special Music School, and her primary instrument is violin. She lives in a musical area – the Upper West Side – so many of her neighbors are musicians, and although she started music at a very young age, it was just last year that she decided to pursue a life of music. Because of this, Elizabeth enrolled at Special Music School so that she could pursue her passion in an environment that would support, challenge and inspire her.

Elizabeth is thankful for “all the musical opportunities Special Music School gives to its students.” She dreams of a career as a solo performer and online music influencer. Next year, she plans to apply to major music programs, including New England Conservatory, Juilliard, Rice University, Indiana University and the Cleveland Institute of Music.

This holiday season, Kaufman Music Center must raise at least $250,000 to help our programs flourish. Will you help us meet this important goal? Please give the gift of music before December 31! Your contribution is a priceless investment in the lives of the artists we serve.
