SMTW: Songwriting (June)

guitar1

On Mondays, students will get a short lesson in lecture form on an aspect of songwriting (lyrics and music), then be given a short in class assignment. Students will then be given a listening assignment which they will either listen to as a class and discuss, or listen on their own. They will also continue work on their class assignment, or on another song of their choosing, and on Friday, students will present their work and receive feedback.

Can be taken in conjunction with the music technology class, so that students can record their work.

This class is part of Teen Music Workshops, which includes Music Appreciation/Analysis, Music Technology, Songwriting, and Introduction to Jazz. Students can receive tuition discounts for multiple workshops: 10% discount on any 2nd workshop, 15% discount on any 3rd workshop, and total tuition of $540 for 4 workshops.
