Joan-Marie Zimmerman is a performer and Voice Technician based in the Italian bel canto school, with particular expertise in Viennese Style of the 18th through 21st centuries.
A two-year Fulbright Fellow to Vienna, Austria, she has extensive experience performing leading roles in opera, musical theater, and other forms of lyric theater, and maintains a broad knowledge of Baroque and Classical Modern music.
Fluent in German, Italian and French, Zimmerman loves language, and is a stylistic expert. A classical musician of the top order, she is also a fan of musical theater. She has studied ballet, tap and modern dance.
An accomplished pianist with successful students in both continents, Zimmerman is comfortable teaching both male and females voices, and enjoys teaching serious students of all ages.
