Broadway Playhouse: Jeanine Tesori

Join Sean Hartley and the beloved Broadway Playhouse cast of zanies as they sing, clown, play games and introduce children to the great writers of American musical theater. At each concert, children are chosen from the audience to participate in the fun. Ages 4-11.

Channel your inner flapper and sing along with adventurous ogres at this celebration of composer Jeanine Tesori! You'll enjoy a mini-production of Shrek The Musical along with songs and scenes from Thoroughly Modern Millie and Best Musical Tony winner Fun Home. Part of the first female writing team to win the Tony Award for Best Original Score, Tesori is the most prolific and honored female theatrical composer in history, with five Broadway musicals and five Tony Award nominations. Some kids will be chosen to join the cast on stage for a game that explores what it means to be a conductor.
