Polys Kyriacou, an artist who lived most of his life in NY, is an acclaimed contemporary poet and lyricist of Cyprus.

His lyrics have been set to music by iconic composers, such as Yiannis Markopoulos, Pantelis Thalassinos, and Lavrentis Mahairitsas, and sung by leading performers such as George Dalaras, Yiannis Kotsiras, Eleonora Zouganeli, etc.

Throughout his poetry a vital element of realism and concern lies evident; his lyrics outline the various aspects of life and his dream and longing for a free homeland.
