Featuring ensembles from Face the Music, Kaufman Music Center's youth contemporary music program

At a time of enormous creativity and productivity within the new music world, women composers are still under-represented on the concert stage, in competitions and in academia. In a program focused on inspiring young women to compose, large ensembles from NYC's premier contemporary youth ensemble Face the Music will  perform works by established composers as well as young women representing the next generation of compositional voices.

The bill includes works by five-time Grammy winner Maria Schneider, Grammy nominee Wu Man, Pulitzer Prize nominee Tamar Muskal, Whitney George and Nina C. Young, plus new works by four talented teen composers from Kaufman Music CenterIsabella D’Angelo, Isabel Janovsky, Sofia Belimova and Michelle David.
