SMS sophomore Ciana Meyers received Merit Recognition in Poetry in the international writing and art competition, the Book of Kells Creative Competition. At the awards ceremony in the Old Dining Hall of Trinity College Dublin, Ciana's poem was presented and Special Music School was recognized.
SMS junior William Chen won the Music Teachers National Association state competiton (senior group).
SMS senior Satchel Peterson received recognition in Jazz/Guitar from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
