Watch the 2017 Summer String Fest performance in Merkin Concert Hall.

Kaufman Music Center's Summer String Fest brings together talented young violinists, violists and cellists each August for an intensive week of music-making, fun and friendship.  All-day sessions feature chamber orchestra or ensemble and sectional group instruction as well as masterclasses, workshops or performances by faculty and guest artists. The week concludes with a final performance featuring all String Fest participants in Merkin Concert Hall. Students will take a field trip to the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center or one of New York's other major cultural institutions.

String Fest is open to intermediate and advanced string players ages 9-18 as well as college-age musicians 18-23. Students are placed in orchestra or ensemble assignments according to age and playing level.
