Deandre Desir is a recent graduate of Special Music School, where he studied the tuba. He says: "Kaufman Music Center has made me the musician that I am today, without a doubt."

Though Deandre was first introduced to music through piano lessons when he was younger, it was Special Music School that identified his aptitude as a brass player and suggested he explore the tuba. Deandre quickly developed a love of the instrument, and now aims to play professionally with the New York Philharmonic.

This fall, Deandre will be continuing his musical studies at The Juilliard School with an impressive scholarship award. We are immensely proud of Deandre and it brings us great joy to know that the Center has had such a positive impact on his life.

Please help Deandre and other Special Music School students grow by supporting the Fund for Music Education today.
