Rising 11th grader William Belfor's musical journey began when he started piano lessons in kindergarten, but his passion for music truly blossomed in middle school when he discovered the oboe. Through his hard work and consistent practice, he found himself auditioning and being accepted into Special Music School High School, only six months after learning this new instrument.

William says, "SMS helps turns hobbies into passions, makes music seem like a world rather than a subject, and is a welcoming, warm and pleasant community with great teachers and students.”

Music has taught William diligence, determination and concentration, all skills which will bring him closer to his dreams of attending MIT to follow in his mother's footsteps and become a computer scientist. We are very proud of William, and excited to see what his future holds!

Please help William and other Special Music School students grow by supporting the Fund for Music Education today.
