Playwriting

2019-07-10_Group-5_Improv_9_Resize

This class breaks down the fundamentals of playwriting in a fun, accessible way through games, improv, short presentations, and writing exercises. Over the course of the year, students will build confidence while working towards writing their own 10-minute play using the skills we’ve built in class. Each student’s play will be performed in a staged reading! Topics covered include story structures (basic structure and the hero’s journey), dialogue, creating characters, beats and building a scene, plus how to give (and receive!) great feedback.
