String Ensemble Tune Up

Members learn the basics of ensemble playing and sight-reading. This group is designed for students who have had at least one year of private lessons, can read music and are able to sight read simple rhythms.

Areas covered will include ensemble playing techniques, sight-reading, ear-training, musicianship skills, performing skills, and more! Violinists should know a two-octave G-major scale fluently and be willing to learn other one-octave scales as needed. Cellist and violists should know a two-octave C-major scale fluently. Topics will include orchestra audition preparation for current Preparatory String Ensemble students, or any students who are looking to audition for the Intermediate (or Advanced) String Ensembles.
