Pegasus: The Orchestra continues its 10th Anniversary Season with bold new music, sweeping Romanticism, incisive wit, and vibrant folk-inspired energy. Led by Founder, Artistic Director, and Principal Conductor Karén Hakobyan, the evening features internationally acclaimed pianist, composer, and arranger Vyacheslav Gryaznov.

The concert opens with the winning composition from Pegasus’s Second International Call for Works, continuing the orchestra’s commitment to discovering and championing compelling new composers. Gryaznov then joins Pegasus for Rachmaninoff’s passionate and brilliantly virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 1, bringing his remarkable clarity, color, and orchestral imagination to the work.

After intermission, Shostakovich’s volatile Ninth Symphony moves from sparkling wit and biting irony to haunting reflection, culminating in an explosive, irreverent finale. Kodály’s Dances of Galánta brings the evening to an exhilarating close, transforming Hungarian folk melodies into a richly colored orchestral showpiece filled with lyricism, rhythmic vitality, and irresistible momentum.
