PIANO DIALOGUES
Pianist Conor Hanick is regarded as one of his generation’s most inquisitive interpreters of music new and old whose “technical refinement, color, crispness and wondrous variety of articulation benefit works by any master” (The New York Times). Hanick traces a century of American piano innovation, from Charles Ives to Julius Eastman and Adrian Knight, plus a world premiere by Samuel Adams and a New York premiere by Matthew Aucoin performed together with the composer.
JULIUS EASTMAN – Piano 2
ADRIAN KNIGHT – Abide With Me
MATTHEW AUCOIN – Sources of Lift (New York Premiere)
SAMUEL ADAMS – Two Impromtus (World Premiere)
CHARLES IVES – Three-Page Sonata
Post-concert discussion with Hanick and Aucoin moderated by Adam Tendler.
