Anna Gourari, internationally renowned pianist and ECM artist, for this New York appearance will join forces with long-time musical partner and cellist Tatjana Vassiljeva, who combines her international solo career with the position of the principal cellist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam.
Both have studied also in Munich where they first met. Both their solo discopgraphies cover a wide range of repertoire, from early to contemporary repertoire. Composers of the likes of Krzysztof Penderecki and Rodion Shchedrin wrote cello pieces for Tatjana and pieces for piano for Anna Gourari, which she has recorded on her actual ECM album “Elusive Affinity”.
