Join Willan Academy of Music for a joyful afternoon concert celebrating 10 years of igniting passion and confidence in musicians of all ages. Founded in 2015 by classical guitarist Kenji Haba, the academy nurtures children as young as 4 and adults through personalized instruction in piano, violin, guitar, cello, saxophone, flute, voice, and more.

We are thrilled to welcome UPenn Dischord as our featured guest performers for this milestone celebration. This collaboration carries special meaning — one of Dischord's own members is a proud Willan Academy alumnus, making this a beautiful full-circle moment as a former student returns to the stage to help celebrate the school's 10th year.

Our student ensemble will take part in a truly historic moment, performing the world premiere of new compositions by Maestro Gregory Singer — pieces that have never been heard anywhere in the world before. We are honored to collaborate with the Manhattan Symphonie, led by Maestro Singer himself, bringing richer orchestral textures and professional artistry to this very special occasion.

The afternoon also features stunning performances by Willan Academy's classical and jazz faculty ensembles, showcasing the extraordinary talent within our own community. We are also proud to celebrate a Willan Academy alumnus now attending the prestigious Special Music School — a testament to the academy's commitment to nurturing serious young musicians who go on to achieve great things. And in a deeply moving conclusion, we will honor our graduating students with a Legacy Award ceremony — celebrating their growth, dedication, and the musical journey that brought them here.

This joyful milestone event, held the day before Mother's Day, unites current students, alumni, faculty, and families in a heartfelt showcase of musical growth, creativity, and shared achievement.

Thank you to our community for a decade of music and love.
