Chen, a critically acclaimed lyric soprano, will perform Fu Tong Wong’s art songs set to poems by old Chinese masters, such as Su Shi, Li Shang Yin, and contemporary poets. At this recital she will collaborate with pianist Samuel Cheung, an experienced accompanist who is known to play with superb sensitivity.
 
Fu Tong Wong is a violin pedagogue and a prolific composer who composed a rich body of vocal and instrumental music. He will hold a pre-concert lecture on how he set music to Chinese poetry, the background of his songs, and how to appreciate them.
