Maltby & Shire: Our Story Goes On

The 2026 American Songbook Association/Cabaret Scenes Gala honors the multi-award-winning songwriting team of Richard Maltby. Jr. and David Shire (Baby; Big; Starting Here, Starting Now; Closer Than Ever; About Time) with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Loni Ackerman, George Lee Andrews, Liz Callaway, Margery Cohen, Jenn Colella, Judy Collins, Catherine Cox, Gretchen Cryer, Josh Dela Cruz, George Dvorsky, Josh Groban, David Harris, Eddie Korbich, Charlotte Maltby, Sally Mayes, Julia Murney, Christiane Noll, Ethan Paulini, Nicole Powell, Benjamin Schader, Sal Viviano, Barbara Walsh, and Sally Wilfert. 

Also scheduled to appear are the Powderpuff Girls: Becca Ayers, Julia Bogdanoff, Blair Alexis Brown, Shinnerie Jackson, Marisa Kirby, Jenna Pasqua, Nicole Powell, and the 92Y Students Nicola Barrett, Michael “Suitkase” Capito, Melissa Fenton, Earl Grey, Anne-Marie Kavula, Will Lanier, Hanna Leigh, Aurora Renee, Xavier Sarabia, and Landon Stovall.

Deniz Cordell will serve as musical director/pianist, joined by Annie Pasqua (piano) and Scott Chaurette (bass). Also that night, Marty and Perry Granoff will receive the Bill Sensenbrenner Dream Maker Award for their dedication to supporting the performing arts.
