Mavis Pan will be perform music from her new album alongside stellar musical partners Ted Nash (tenor sax, flute, clarinet), Geoff Burke (alto and soprano saxes, alto flute, clarinet), Mark Wade (bass), and Domo Branco (drums). The rich tapestry of Rising ranges from Afro funk to French cinematic valses, from Spanish tango to Middle Eastern Tarab (musical ecstasy), plus nostalgic Taiwanese folk songs. It is a fascinating collection of Pan’s musical journeys around the world and the victory she declares by overcoming the adversity and heartache she has endured.
