Mirror Visions Ensemble, having recently celebrated 30 years of exploring poetry through music, presents a new program reflecting its past, present and future. Devoted champions of art song and vocal chamber works, the Ensemble has commissioned every piece in this concert.  The first portion of the program will feature several world premieres, including four songs by recent winners of MVE’s Young Composers Competition (Alex Burtzos, Griffin Candey, Cheng Jin Koh, and Lisa Neher), as well as works by B.E. Boykin, Randall Eng, and John Glover. The evening will conclude with a performance of Tom Cipullo’s song cycle Secrets, set to poetry by Linda Pastan. Mirror Visions’ performers will include soprano Mireille Asselin, baritone Jesse Blumberg, pianist Margaret Kampmeier, mezzo soprano Abi Levis, tenors Daniel McGrew and Scott Murphree, and pianist Grant Wenaus.
