Face the Music Electronic Music

Individual Lessons Program: Any teen musician who has auditioned for Face the Music may be eligible to sign up for lessons in Composition, Songwriting, Electronic Music, or Conducting. Individual Lessons are offered in Cycles: Fall, Winter, and Spring. In each Cycle students receive eight 40-minute private lessons weekly on Face the Music days. Tuition for individual lessons is $450 per Cycle for Face the Music Member Students, or $500 per Cycle for Non-Member Students.

Previous experience in an individual lesson area is not required!

All Face the Music students are encouraged to create music in addition to playing and performing in ensembles. For musicians who may like to create or produce their own electronic or electroacoustic music, Face the Music now offers Electronic Music Lessons. Students will explore and grow essential skills within DAW software (digital audio workstation) – gaining valuable experience transferrable to any sophisticated electronic music applications. Students will play, program, and record virtual instruments and drum machines using MIDI, discover sound design techniques and concepts, manipulate and process audio signals to sculpt their own sounds, and learn how to create a beat and see it through the arrangement process to a finished composition.
