Build skills in solfège and piano improvisation to prepare for examinations that lead to Dalcroze credentials (note: examinations are offered in-person only as part of the Dalcroze Summer Intensive held in August). Weekly sequential study of scales, intervals harmony, phrase, form and melody for solfège; playing for movement and eurhythmics applications, keyboard harmony, motivic development, and playing for images and stories for improvisation. Includes video access to recorded eurhythmics classes.
Note: this course is intended for students living outside the NYC area, or summer students unable to attend classes in-person during the academic year who wish to work towards Dalcroze certification. The course is flexible with scheduling, and time and date of each session will be decided by the teacher week by week.
