Young dancers are introduced to the discipline and vocabulary of a classical ballet class. Emphasis is on correct alignment and musicality, and the teacher gives ample individual attention. Girls and boys also work on choreographed dances which they perform at the end-of-year Merkin Hall recital. This class is open to students ages 5 and 6 who are ready for more technique than in Pre-Ballet but are not quite ready for Ballet I.
The curriculum is designed to continue through the Fall and Spring semesters. Students are encouraged to register for the same day and time for both Fall and Spring. Spring classes with a minimum age of 4 or older culminate in a performance in May in Merkin Hall..
Please visit the Dance Program Page for Attire info, Discounts, and recital information.
