Laca is a classically trained soprano who has been sharing music with young children for more than twenty years. A Tennessee native, she holds a B.A. in Music from Rhodes College in Memphis and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. Additional training includes Orff Schulwerk Level 1, Kodály Level 2, and several years of Dalcroze study, all of which continue to shape her teaching.
She has served on the early childhood and voice faculty of Oklahoma City University Performing Arts Academy, Kindermusik of The Woodlands (Texas), and Larchmont Music Academy. From 2007 to 2024, she ran her own children's music company, Sing & Celebrate, through which she provided musical programs for NYC children's events as well as weekly music classes for area preschools. She currently serves as the music specialist at Christ Church Day School.
At the heart of Laca's teaching is a deep respect for every child's innate musicality. She is committed to creating a joyful, welcoming space where each student feels valued and a wide variety of vocal styles are embraced.
