Puerto Rican-American cellist Luis Mercado is a dynamic Suzuki cello teacher and music educator in New York City. He is on the cello faculty at the Kaufman Center’s Lucy Moses School, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and Third Street Music School Settlement. From 2014-22 he was an adjunct instructor of cello at New York University, and from 2010-11 Luis taught a cello practicum course for Music Education majors at the University of South Carolina. A member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and American String Teachers Association, he is committed to providing affordable, inclusive and fun music education to students of all ages.
