Suzanne Grégoire



Ballet and Summer Musical Theater Workshop; faculty of the Kaufman Music Center since 1991. Currently also teaches at Urban Arts Partnership. Ms. Grégoire created the physically integrated dance and yoga programs at the IDEAL School of Manhattan and has taught residencies at numerous public and private schools and colleges throughout New York and New England. She trained in classical ballet at the Ballet Russe and later with Maestro Alfredo Corvino. After majoring in dance at Kirkland College her training continued at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, the Merce Cunningham School and with Thelma Hill. Ms. Grégoire was artistic director of her own company, Cirque Grégoire for many years, and also danced for Anna Sokolow and other modern companies. As a member of the Global Children’s Art Programme Ms. Grégoire creates collaborative dance and art summer workshops for the Children’s Shelter Foundation in Thailand. She is an RYT 200 yoga teacher and holds additional certifications in Mindfulness and Yoga for Children with Special Needs. Ms. Grégoire has received choreography fellowships from the Joyce Mertz Gilmore Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts, among others.
