Valerie received her B.M. and M.M from California State University San Jose and her D.M.A from Manhattan School of Music. She has her Suzuki flute certification from the University of Eastern Tennessee. She studied flute with Louis Moyse, Carol Wincenc, Thomas, Nyfenger, and Harold Bennett. She is on faculty with Brooklyn College Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts and InterSchool Orchestras of New York.
