Yukiko holds a B.A. in piano performance from Osaka College of Music in Japan, where she studied piano with Masutaka Kanazawa and Sergei Dorensky. She performed as a soloist with Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra and Arukadia Chamber Society and released a solo recording with EMI. Additional training includes Certificate in Responsive Pedagogy program at Teachers College, Columbia University, Mark Morris Dance Accompaniment training, and World Music Drumming Certificate with Will Schmid.
Yukiko received her Dalcroze Certificate from New York Dalcroze School of Music in 1998. She studied the Dalcroze method with Hilda Schuster, Robert Abramson, Anne Farber, and Lisa Parker. She is a former Vice President of Dalcroze Society of America. She is a faculty member of Mark Morris Dance Center, Special Music School and Lucy Moses School at Kaufman Music Center.
