Face the Music offers private instruction in composition, electronic composition, songwriting and conducting. Lessons are scheduled with the individual instructor, and students get one 40-minute session per week (30 total per season). Student composers have their pieces performed at least twice a year in composer readings with professional musicians and also have the opportunity to write for their peers in the large ensemble or small ensembles. Composition and songwriting students are also given the opportunity to perform their own music if they choose.
Tuition for private lessons for the 2023-24 season is $1800 ($900/semester). Special Music School and Lucy Moses School students get a 25% tuition discount.
