Parsla Vintere – a Lucy Moses School faculty member since 1989, teaching Ballet, The Ballet Company, Stretching & Relaxation and Bodywork for Health & Fitness.
Parsla Vintere received diploma of a professional ballet dancer from Riga Ballet School, Latvia, trained in Russian technique of Vaganova method, performed in classical ballet and opera productions at Latvian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, danced with Leningrad Theatre of Contemporary Ballet, Saint Petersburg, Russia, under the direction of Boris Eifman and performed with this company in various cities of the former Soviet Union.
Ms. Parsla was the founder, choreographer and principal teacher at Parsla Vintere Ballet School of Roosevelt Island, NYC, artistic director and choreographer of New York City Chamber Ballet creating original ballets performed at Fordham University, United Nations International School and various other locations around NYC, choreographed and taught at Jersey City Dance Academy, Milwaukee Festival, Vroom Learning Center and various performance projects in Italy and France, a former dance faculty member at Nassau Community College, SUNY, a founder, artistic director and choreographer of The Ballet Company at Lucy Moses School.
The interests in the psychology of movement lead Ms. Parsla to further studies of this connection. She received her Ph.D. in Learning Processes from The Graduate School and University Center, CUNY. She has developed an original methodology of teaching dance and classical ballet, her research has been published and she is presenting her research nationally and internationally focusing on behavioral analysis of movement across a wide skill and age range.
The focus of Ms. Parsla’s classes is on esthetics, technique and joy of dance and movement.
